Dog Collars & Leads

Get your leash on: the importance of dog collars and leads

Dogs are like humans: they just have to have accessories. It is up to the discretion of the owners if they will pimp their dogs up but  whatever the case may be, dogs must have collars because it has many purposes. Whether it is for identification, walking, or fashion, (and any other purpose that the owner might think of) dogs are always entitled to collars and leads.

I've seen many dog owners spending a lot of time buying dog shoes and clothes to help make their dogs look more adorable, but collars and leads are not in their shopping list. It's always a requirement to have a collar and lead for a dog because it serves as their identification, which is very useful for dog owners and authorities to find their missing pets, especially if it contains a dog tag. Cute clothes and customized dog shoes may get lost along the way, but collars will never get lost.

Having dog collars and leads for your pet also serves as a way to train these wonderful creatures. Collars connect to leads, which are often bought together with matching dog collars. Leads are a perfect way of "controlling" your pet, telling him or her which way to go, when to stop, or immediately pull when it gets into trouble with other dogs. It is also the perfect medium for dogs, especially those who have blind masters, to guide their human to safety.

If you are still having a hard time understanding why dogs must have collars and leads, think of it as a watch. Humans can live without watches, but it will give everybody a hard time if they are to rely on just wall clocks. Everyone just has to have a watch to keep track of time. Same goes with the dogs and collars and leads. They simply cannot live without them.
